5 Reasons Your Child Should Join A Glee Club

5 Reasons Your Child Should Join A Glee Club

A Glee Club is a society organized for the singing of choral music. It dates back to the late 19th century where the first one was founded in London, England. Glee in this context does not hint towards the mood of the music sung or of its singers, but to a specific form of English part song popular between 1650 and 1900, the glee. This was an English part song that usually scored for at least three voices, and generally intended to be sung a capella. Joining is not only fun; there are benefits that could help you or your child in more ways than you would think. Here are 5 reasons to join our Glee Club.

  1. Elevates your performance skills and reduces stage fright.

One of the goals of practicing singing so much is so that you can perform for others.  The more you get up in front of people and perform, the more you’ll reduce any stage fright.  Singing on stage alongside others helps with stage fright because you’re not alone.  Also, being prepared and really knowing how to sing your part makes it much easier to get up and perform for a crowd.

  1. Promotes your social skills.

Singing in a Glee Club can be a great way to enhance your social skills.  Some of the best people join choirs and clubs like this, and many times the friends you make here become like family.  It’s very common for people to gain lifelong friendships through musical activities like these.

  1. Promotes happiness in your life and those around you.

Singing in a Glee Club can be very fun and exciting.  Not only is it fun to sing music that you enjoy, but it feels wonderful to hear an audience applaud you for giving a great performance.  It can also be very honorable and gratifying to voluntarily sing in your local community and see the happiness on people’s faces because they enjoy listening to you sing.

  1. Look’s great on college or grad school applications

Colleges and Universities are always looking for students who get involved in extracurricular activities and clubs. This shows excellent discipline, time management and listening skills.

  1. Meet new people

In today’s day and age, a lot of life is not about what you know; it’s about who you know. When networking is one of the most potentially useful things to utilize in life, why not have some fun while meeting new people.
